Another Hospital Visit
I've not posted anything today, as I was in the Methodist Hospital (part of the Jefferson Hospital organization) in South Philadelphia having a kidney stent removed.
As I've noted here before, Since July 7th I've had three extended hospital stays and several outpatient procedures. I had a serious kidney infection, a kidney stone, and I discovered (the hard way) that I had gout. It has been a rough summer.
Hopefully, today is the end of my medical troubles for now.
Normally, a urologist removes a stent while you are fully conscious in their office. When I had my first kidney stone removed some 20 years ago, this was how I had the stent removed.
It was not a good experience, so I requested an IV Sedation for this go-around.
Even though the procedure only lasts three or so minutes, I was put under and when I awoke it was all over. Thank God.
I'd like to once again thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Methodist Hospital and Jefferson Hospital for their professionalism, and perhaps equally important, their compassion.
I'd also like to thank my beautiful wife for standing by me and helping me deal with these past God-awful months.
