On This Day In History The Second Continental Congress Creates Committee Of Secret Correspondence
As History.com notes, on this day in 1775, the Second Continental Congress created the Committee of Secret Correspondence. The committee, which consisted of Benjamin Franklin and other notables, has been called America's first foreign intelligence organization.
