WATERS EAST OF THE KOREAN
PENINSULA (Oct. 18, 2017) The Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier USS
Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) and the forward-deployed Arleigh Burke-class destroyer
USS Stethem (DDG 63) steam alongside ships from the Republic of Korea navy.
Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, is conducting a
bilateral training exercise with the Republic of Korea (ROK) Navy designed to
increase the readiness of U.S. and ROK forces and maintain stability on the
Korean Peninsula.
