In my view, Sean Connery, the
first cinema James Bond, was the best Bond.
And the first three films,
Dr. No, From Russia With Love and Goldfinger, are the best of the Bond films.
The three films from the 1960’s
are the best of the film series chiefly because of Sean Connery and the fact that
the films followed the novels of the late, great Ian Fleming so
closely.

The films are great, but one
should also read Ian Fleming's James Bond thrillers, which are darker and more
complex than the films.
