A Little Humor: The Young And Old Doctor
An elderly retired doctor became bored and decided to open a medical clinic.
He put a sign up that read: “Dr. Oldster’s Clinic. I can cure anything for $500. If not cured, get back $1,000.”
Doctor Youngster was positive that the old doctor was out of touch with modern medicine, so he thought this would be a great opportunity to make $1,000.
“Dr. Oldster, I have lost all taste in my mouth. Can you please help me?”
“Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in Dr. Young’s mouth,” the elderly doctor said.
“Shit, this is gasoline!” the young doctor said.
“Congratulations! You’ve got your taste back. That will be $500.”
Dr. Youngster was angry, so after a couple of days he returned to the clinic to get his money back.
“I’ve lost my memory, doctor. I can’t remember anything,” the younger doctor said.
“Nurse, please bring medicine from box 22 and put 3 drops in the patient’s mouth.”
“Oh, no you don’t. That’s gasoline!” the young doctor said.
“Congratulations! You’ve just got your memory back. That will be $500.”
Dr. Youngster returned to the clinic a few days later.
“My eyesight has become weak – I can hardly see anything,” Doctor Youngster said.
“Well, I don’t have any medicine for that so, here’s $1000,” said Doctor Oldster, handing him a $10 bill.
“But this is only a $10 bill!” Doctor Youngster said.
“Congratulations! You got your vision back! That will be $500.”
The moral of the story is just because you’re young don’t think that you can outsmart an old person.
